TIBERIUM
Green Tiberium: This is an alien, non-carbon based substance that grows everywhere on the earth. It draws minerals from the ground which can be harvested by your harvester. This stuff kills infantry and civilians. It can also harm the electronics in some high-tech units.
Blue Tiberium: This mutated Tiberium is much more valuable and also much more explosive. If full of blue tiberium, your harvester will explode if under attack or on rough terrain.
Tiberium Vein Hole: This spits out poisonous Tiberium gas which will kill infantry and damage vehicles.
Tiberium Gas: The effects of a Tiberium missile! This will kill your infantry and sometimes occurs naturally as well.

WEATHER
Day and Night: In some missions, day will change to night, or they will start off at night. Darkness will affect unit visibility and firing range and accuracy. You can however, build lights and guard towers which help you to see at night.
Toxic Winds: This poisonous wind probably affects infantry
Meteor Storm: These strike without warning, destroying random areas of the map. They will not be nice!
Ion Storm: This storm shuts down high-tech units and structures so you have to build low-tech units in the later levels as well as high-tech units. You have a 30 second warning before a storm hits the whole map!

ENVIRONMENT
Crates
Wooden crates can be found in towns, cities, supply yards etc. and can be set on fire or destroyed for fun!
'Power up' Boxes
These include many different bonuses including a new power bonus which allows you to provide an extra boost of power to your base at the touch of a button.
Civilian Buildings
There will be Apartment flats, Hospitals, National Guard Armory, Banks, Train Stations, and more, which you can demolish!
Some buildings will be wrecked but other will have various uses. For some of these, see our structures section.
Trees
There will be huge forrests in some scenarios and trees can be set alight to create giant forrest fires. This could be used tactically to burn enemy infantry, or civilians if you're really evil!
Cliffs
Cliffs aren't just static objects as in previous C&C games. This time they are Deformable. This means, by firing on or around them, you can cause avalanches or make them more suitable for tanks to move on.
Rivers
Rivers will provide obstacles to many of your units, except for hover and aircraft units. They can however freeze over in some missions, then units can cross the ice (see below).
Ice
After several tanks have passed over a section of thin ice,the pressure will cause fissures to develop, and splash! You will lose a few tanks. So be cautious! (or use bridges, like any sensible commander)
Tunnels
For the first time in a C&C game, there are tunnels which your units can use to travel under mountains. Could be a bit confusing though. I hope you can see units when under tunnels, maybe greyed out or something.
Bridges
Bridges are also different in Tiberian Sun. This time they can be rebuilt by an engineer after being destroyed. Just pop an engineer into the bridge-house, and he'll magically repair the bridge again.
