PCG Article and Image - Daniel |
PC Gamer Online have a new TS preview available here. They also have a really cool image:![]() |
Gamers.com article - Daniel |
Gamers.com have a really good Tiberian Sun preview. It's two pages long a mentions quite a lot of new stuff. Read it all here:The most welcome part from veteran players is probably the ability to shut off buildings. It felt somewhat helpless when you were low in power in the previous games. However, this time around if you're low on power, buildings build much slower. Another new building feature is that you can build above cliffs if your buildings below the cliffs are close enough. Now they've got it right. 'Far superior'! Check out the article here |
Yeahh! No More Exams - Daniel |
I've now finished my exams! (they weren't that bad actually) Anyway, this would mean that I could spend more time on the site, but unfortunately I am working all next week so I won't be able to do too much extra. Here are my plans for the next few days/weeks:

New E3 Image - Daniel |
Here is a cool image from E3, which has been enhanced by James:![]() |
New Screensaver - Daniel |
Ion Mammoth sent this screensaver to TiberiumSun.com. It features the two side's logos and the Tiberian Sun logo, zooming in and out, but isn't that exciting. It's only 220kb, so you may as well download it: New Screensaver [220kb] |
Strategy Summary and New Preview! - Daniel |
Gamespot have written a short summary of all the strategy games shown at E3. Here is what they said about Tiberian Sun:O strategy fan, be not deceived by the unbelievers, for relief is on the way! Let us first dispel the clouds of despair by waxing eloquent upon the best of the real-time games soon to ship. Command & Conquer: Tiberian Sun brings not just improved graphics, but a much better computer opponent than earlier games in the series. While I'm not as optimistic about the ship date as the Westwood folks seem to be, I'd rather they take the extra time to continue work on the multiplay - which already looks to be a lot more balanced than that of C&C: Red Alert. All in all, bad news for rabid "tank rush" fans, great news for the rest of us.Check out the rest here! They have also written a new preview here. There is some NEW information in it: Players who prefer to toy with the dark side will be glad to know that the Brotherhood of NOD has developed its own voice-assisted interface. Unlike Eva, however, CABAL (computer-assisted bioengineered artificial life-form) takes on a much more active role in the NOD battles. While he has the same capabilities as Eva, CABAL will also offer engagement tactics and attack plans during a skirmish. CABAL will even go so far as to mock players when an attack falls short or when a base has been left undefended. Now that sounds really cool. A great idea! And here is another one: The meteors are in fact tiny Tiberium shards that sprout into vinelike plants. Bases without proper cleaning capabilities can be completely overrun by these Tiberium vines, which can clog structures and even kill infantry. |
Summer Release - Daniel |
Here is an e-mail which Sonic Storm from RSN got from Virtual Ted, confirming a Summer release date:Hmm. Delayed again? Here's my take on this... I'm not entirely sure where the June date was given out. Maybe by EA, maybe by us. If a specific date had to be secured, I guess this was as good as any. |
New Preview - Daniel |
This Gamestats preview is nice and short and summarizes the game well. If you're new to Tiberian Sun, or want a good, quick read, click here |

Are you obsessed? - Daniel |
TS Nation, who, by the way, have a new site layout, posted the Top 10 symptoms of Tiberian Sun obsession: 10. You harass webmasters for Tiberian Sun info continuously. 9. You have Westwood merchandise before the game is released. 8. Your screen handle is a character from TS. 7. Westwood paraphernalia covers every inch of your room. 6. You start Hallucinating about TS. 5. You work for a TS site. 4. You start dreaming about Umagaan. 3. You Visit Westwood Studios. 2. You work for Tiberian Sun Nation. 1. You go around ordering others to help rebuild your temple and shouting, "I am Kane!" Well, looks like I'm obsessed! |
TS not the best? - Daniel |
Someone from E3 sent this to RSN:It looked good, but it doesn't look as good as other games like Age of Kings or TS: Kingdoms. Its display was a real disappointment with only one stand. It seemed as if they were playing the entire thing down by showing their other games. Of all the RTS games, Age of Kings was VERY impressive as well as TS: Kingdoms. :)Well, I think TS will be better than both of them! We'll all see for ourselves soon... |
Good News! - Daniel |
People who were at E3 have said that a Westwood rep told them that the release date was July 15th! This is a bit later than we expected, but a definate date is good news! |
Soulkrusher Guilty! - Daniel |
Well, RSN have found the cuprit of the afore mentioned e-mail:Soulkrusher (now known as Schmerz on Colorless Green Void) Was the one who sent the e-mail about Tiberian Sun being delayed possibly to March 2000, posing as Adam from westwood. He wanted to be hired back here to RSN but i didn't want to hire him, so there's his motive. He was the newsletter person on RSN while he worked here & we never changed the password for it, so there's the means. Everyone who recieved the e-mail can see the originating ip, which converts to his isp exactly, so there's the proof. Give 'em hell, boys! Unleash your collective powers on him and give him a huge guilt trip!Well, that says it all! KILL! (don't really.) |
Confirmation from Rade - Daniel |
Rade says that the release date info sent by the so-called Adam Isgreen is 100% pure BS. Excellent! |
Waypoint Information - Daniel |
Gunfire has given BG:TS some information on the waypoint system used in Tiberian Sun (remember, the one we saw in the E3 pics):"I wanted to clear up the whole waypoint issue for you guys, because they are nothing like we've seen in other games.Sounds like a really cool feature, very useful! It may take a while to get used to, but I expect it will be much more effective than the traditional waypoint systems used in Red Alert and Starcraft. Many different strategies will be possible using this system (patrolling units, easier coordination of air attacks, etc.) |
Site News - Daniel |
Next week, I should have finished updating my units and structures sections and the site should be back to normal! |

The Best News I've Ever Told You! - Daniel |
Warmaker from TiberiumSun.com has got proof that the e-mail below was not from Adam Isgreen and is a fake. This means the release date is still early July!!!!!!! Yeahhhhhh! Here are the facts which show up the e-mail:
|
Release Date - Daniel |
I just looked at TS Center and they received the very same e-mail as below. I know we are all really pissed off at Westwood about all this, but remember, we haven't received any real confirmation of this yet, so don't give up yet! And if this is a lie, whoever sent this e-mail is a very sick person who doesn't deserve to even think about using the internet. And if this is all true, then we should be angry at Westwood, they have done this to us too many times! Any comments, email me. |
Nooooooooo! It is true! - Daniel |
This may be the worst news I've ever had to give you. Lord-D from TiberianSun.net.nz received this e-mail from Adam Isgreen:Hello Tiberian Sun fans. This is Adam Isgreen here from the offices of Westwood Studios, Las Vegas.March 2000 is going too far! The game people have seen at E3 has been said to be amazing, so why are Westwood holding the game back this long??? The only reason could be that they do want a Christmas release. There can't be that many problems with the game, and if there are WW should really speed up production! Maybe this is a hoax afterall, because just a few days ago, Adam denied these facts. We should find out within a few days. |
Firestorm Defence - Daniel |
Here is some information Virtual Ted gave to Tiberian Sun Page (original title, eh?) about the Firestorm Defense system:The firestorm defense system will acts like a shield (Most of the people know). No weapon can shoot into the shield but the one inside the shield can fire outside. It is unlimited BUT the shield will be depleted after long firing at it (Not too long). There will be a meter on the sidebar of GDI and it will state the amount of shield remaining. Shield is recharged when you have suffcient power and the more of the system built, the faster the rate of recharge. |
More Info on Erik Yeo and Release Date - Daniel |
TS Den have asked Erik Yeo a few questions about his departure from Westwood and the release date delays:Lion: Hi Erik......I know your not at Westwood anymore, sad to say. What I don't understand is why the TS game is being delayed again. This time its August, maybe, if we're lucky. When you left Westwood, just how close was the game to being finished? You don't have to post this question. I just wanted to know for my own curiosity. And just to let you know. There is rumors floating that Brett Sperry fired you. You don't have to comment on that. I respect your rare talent in the gaming industry. thanksSo it seems that Erik was, in fact, fired and maybe (hopefully) the release date delay was all a big mistake :) |

Two Tick Tanks? - Daniel |
RSN have noticed that both these screenshots resemble a Tick Tank:![]() ![]() They are slightly different, but which one is correct? If you think you know, e-mail me |
Release Date Rumours? - Daniel |
TiberianSun.de have talked with Adam Isgreen from Westwood and he denies all rumours of a furthur delay. He said:"These rumors are very straining on my nerves."Let's hope he's right and TS is released in early July! |
Forgotten Information - Daniel |
RSN found this article in an old issue of PC Gamer:Those left behind are known as the Forgotten. Over time they slowly mutate as their bodies adapt to the radiation, and soon the NOD show up, bringing food and medical supplies. The NOD, naturally, are hiding their true purpose, and soon members of the Forgotten begin to vanish. When they come back as NOD Cyborgs, the Forgotten declare war on the NOD and reluctantly form an alliance with the GDI. As the story unfolds, gamers will learn what caused the Tiberium to spread at such an alarming rate, as well as the fate of Kane, the leader of the NOD who was thought to have perished at the end of the first game.Click here to read the rest of the article. |
E3 TS Preview - Daniel |
E3.net have written their own preview of Tiberian Sun, using information from E3:Tiberian Sun is set approximately 30 years after Kane and NOD were destroyed by an Ion Cannon strike. Since then, the world's ecology has gone to hell as tiberium has poisoned the ecosystem. GDI has relocated some of the huddled masses of humanity to the polar regions and even space to escape the ravages of tiberium. In the abandoned cities the forgotten live, terrible mutants who have been abandoned...Click here for the rest. |
New Info on Erik's Departure - Daniel |
BG:TS has found out the following news concerning Erik Yeo's mysterious departure from Westwood:"How can he do that?", was a common thought when Erik Yeo, lead designer of C&C: TS, left Westwood and with that also his project - "How can he leave the project he supervised for such a long time shortly before it's finished?" Now GameStar found out: Erik would have liked to finish TS himself - but Westwood-boss Brett Sperry simply fired his long-time employee when he found out that Yeo planned to found his own firm. Erik Yeo will now develop an action-strategy-game for Playstation 2, on behalf of Midway. |
