This essential building is neccesary to build other structures. This should be very well protected and if destroyed, MCVs must be constructed to build more construction yards. It is possible that you will be able to pick up and re-deploy (move) your construction yard in your base, during the game.

This is another vital structure, needed to convert harvested Tiberium into credits, which in turn you can use to build or repair other units and buildings. So the more of these you build, the more credits you'll have. Keep them safe!

These store any extra credits you build up. They can each store 1,000 credits worth of proccessed Tiberium but you lose it if they get destroyed. They require heavy protection due to their low armor.

Power: Medium
These light up your base at night (to show off your pretty buildings) and allow your units to shoot more accurately at night-time. They will also help you to detect enemy intruders near your base. Of course, lights will shut down without enough power. They are obviously vital in night missions.

These walls will protect your base against enemy fire. However, GDI's 18-foot Mech Units and air units can shoot over them, others have to either destroy them or go around them. These are useful to surround important structures or base defenses.

These structures connect to walls and will lower to allow friendly units through. They do stay open for a short time so it is possible for the enemy to sneak in.

This is the building where your tanks, APCs, Harvesters and other high tech ground vehicles are built.

You can repair damaged vehicles here. That's about it. It does save time and money, so you'll want to use it.

The watch towers have search lights to track units at night-time. Once detected, a spot light will follow the enemy, making them easier to hit for your units and base defense structures. These are useful when placed near guard towers. Firing will be twice as accurate with targets in the spot light.

Power: High
The Electromagnetic Pulse Cannon has a huge range of 30 cells, and affects a 6x6 cell area. It doesn't actually do any damage, but disables units, causing them to shut down and become defenseless. Then they can be wiped out by infantry! Be careful not to disable your own units though.
